Keep protective-coating and finish information with structural documentation. Have later alterations to exposed structural elements assessed beforehand.
Record the arrangements with the proposal.
Ask which workmanship and product warranties apply, including scope, duration, conditions, maintenance and reporting.
Distinguish three things
- The work: which tasks are covered by the agreed arrangement?
- Products: what conditions and documents accompany the materials?
- Aftercare: how do you report a question or possible defect?
A useful handover file
Keep final agreements, drawings, product information and maintenance advice together. Record outstanding work with location and the agreed next step.
